Hi Jason–That’s an excellent point, and it goes to show how complicated home ownership has become. To take that a step farther, if your employment situation is in doubt–with no end in sight–you might even be better off renting. In some markets, it’s difficult to sell a house at any price, so renting is the only option that provides complete flexibility.However I still maintain that for the typical homeowner–who doesn’t want to sell–the 30 year loan provides greater flexibility. The advantage of the 15 only kicks in when the loan is finally paid in full. Most people won’t be in a position to make that happen in a financial crisis.

Where did you get the ‘Syncretistic Missional Ecclesiology’ concept from?I’ve never used that term, but the way I’ve described what you’ve eloquently started to unpack is simply, “posture”.My sense is posture and timeframes need to changes (perhaps the latter comes out of the former.)You can’t say you’re ‘doing missional’ if you’re fundamentally postured in a different direction…..
